Destiny

“Silas! Enough.” It’s been a week since I made it home from the hospital and he’s been a mother hen to me. It’s beginning to drive me crazy. I know that I stated earlier that I was looking forward to him taking care of me, but I had no idea he’d go to these extremes. He carries me to the bathroom every thirty minutes like clockwork… as if I’m a dog he’s training to go outside. I have to eat every four hours when he issues me my pain meds… they state on the bottle take as needed every four to six hours. Well, my man forces me to take them every four. Even when I don’t need them!

“Kitten, let me do this,” he implores as he plumps the pillows and re-covers my lower body.

“I’m not helpless, you know,” I mutter.

“You’re mine to care of, Destiny, and that’s that.” The finality in his tone sends goosebumps shivering through my body; it’s his growly voice, the one that bends me to his will.

I debate rolling my eyes but know that it’ll earn me a punishment when he deems me ‘healthy’ enough to receive it. I know he has a rolling count going already and I’m secretly excited to be on the receiving end of his hands touching my flesh. Even now, I feel my panties dampen and I bite back a moan of anticipation. Still, he knows if the smirk on his face is any indication.

“When can I know what’s going on?” I ask. I know there is something massive going on right now; he and his brothers have been holing up in the office and they’ve had several people who apparently belong to a local motorcycle club come by as well.

“It’s a need to know basis, Destiny. When you need to know something, I’ll tell you.”

“Is this because I’m not part of some secret men's society or something? I was part of the operation, I put my neck on the line. The least you can do is tell me what’s going on!” I plead.

“This has nothing to do with you not having a dick, Destiny. It’s because we don’t have our heads wrapped around everything. Once I know for a fact what’s going on, I’ll clue you in. Okay?”

“I suppose,” I state, pouting like a child who didn’t get her way. But hell, I was hurt helping them out, the least they could do is let me all the way in. I want to know that what I did helped at least one person.

“We’re working on it, I promise.” He leans down and kisses the top of my head. “You need to rest; you haven’t been sleeping well.”

“That’s because all I do is fucking sleep,” I retort, rolling my eyes underneath my closed lids.

“I saw that,” he declares.

“Saw what? I didn’t do anything, Silas.”

“Keep telling yourself that lie and maybe, just maybe, I’ll begin to believe it as well,” he chuckles, standing up from his bent position over me. “See you in an hour when your next dose of meds are due.
